QNET is a Hong Kong based direct selling company owned by the QI Group. It began operations in 1998. To date, the company has a strong presence across Asia in countries such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, UAE, Turkey, Russia, and Kazakhstan. It also has entered the highly-lucrative African Market through countries such as Egypt and Burkina Faso, and quite recently, has established a regional hub in East Africa’s rising economic power, Rwanda.
QNET sells a plethora of products such as energy, weight management, nutrition, personal care, home care, luxury goods, and fashion accessories.
Marketing Strategy:
Unlike retail stores, QNET’s marketing philosophy follows the multi-level marketing (MLM) model. In this, independent representatives of the company contact prospective customers directly and sell its products to them. Depending on the volume of sales, these representatives receive proportionate compensation. This type of business model is great because it allows people to take a greater degree of ownership in the company’s growth story while increasing their income alongside the immense networking possibilities MLM offers. In common terminology, this is called Direct Selling.
Direct Selling:
Direct selling is the marketing and selling of products and goods directly to consumers, i.e., these goods and products are sold away from a fixed retail location, usually though party plan, one-on-one demonstrations, and other personal contact arrangements as well as internet sales. One-to-one demonstrations in either people’s houses, or their workplace constitutes a large percentage of overall direct sales. The World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) reported that its registered associations, accounted for more than US$114 Billion in sales in 2007, and that number is growing.
Consumers benefit from direct selling because of the convenience and service it provides, including personal demonstration and explanation of products, home delivery, and generous satisfaction guarantees. Also, because you require very little capital to start, direct selling is a popular business for people to take up.
The Advantage:
The biggest advantage is that you get to control your share of the business. You sell products that interest you to new and old consumers. With old customers, you build on your existing network and with new ones; you forge a working relationship that has numerous benefits. Upon completing your set of targets, you’re paid accordingly. Thus, with an incredible amount of responsibility and ownership on your shoulders, this is a phenomenal challenge that you’ll relish. Plus, the high rewards make it enticing and a great way for you to go out there and do what the old Latin saying says – Carpe Diem, Seize the day!
